Drama is one of the most influential art process of human civilization. Drama is the essence of Chinese culture. Inheritance is the continuation of the entire nation’s cultural genes, and innovation is the hope of development. Since 2013, the Star Theater has held a “Xiqu opera blackbox festival ” with the significance of the city’s cultural brand in October every year.
This event not only provides a good creative environment and platform for the drama creators in the three places, but also plays a role in the renaissance of traditional dramas in contemporary Chinese society. So far, the Xiqu opera blackbox festival has been held four times, and has accumulated nearly 50 outstanding dramas works with concepts such as “inheritance, innovation, experimentation, youth and the future”.
There are not only traditional dramas, but also diversified new works like new dramas and children’s dramas etc., allowing more young audiences to walk into theaters, experience and enjoy the beauty of opera art. “Fun theater, you have more drama.”
